Wednesday's Grace Notes

Wednesday's Grace Notes
Finally getting the correct meds for my pneumonia (I am allergic to too many)  choosing to have fun anyway and placing lightweight easy to read catalogs in my bed to read first thing in the morning or at 3:00 in the morning when I can't sleep, making biscuits just for me... oh and a big glass of chocolate protein powder,  Megan once again taking care of me w/ meds and groceries. I hear that she actually DOES have life... meanwhile she gut me a couple of real tubs of ice cream, you know the kind that I haven't had in a very long time?  I barely remember what they taste like but I'm willing to try,  people willing to take time off of work just to take care of me.  As you can see I am hanging in there but I don't deserve their kindness,  doctors showing more compassion and kindness and giving myself the gift of only surrounded by those who love them.... however there is always that "10%"

Thursday's Grace Notes

Thursday's Grace Notes
Ho ho! Ho ho! It's off to work I go!... wait a minute...  I'm already here! Laying out my clothes the night before and just throwing them on in the morning ,talking with your hands, childlike faith,  listening more, talking less... I am still working on it,  reconnecting with old friends and cultivating the new,  my children,  sleepy hibiscus flowers in my garden, the joy of giving,  learning how to receive, and putting a limit on my Grace Notes...  I could go on all day.

Tuesdays Grace Notes

  • Tuesdays Grace Notes
  • My boss (me) is giving me three breaks a day,  an old friend that I haven't heard from in years calling last night and reconnecting, removing the bubble wrap and truly feeling sorrows and joys,  the cantata A Ft Lauderdale Christmas, healing,  making friends w/ my postal worker Linda,  and opening my hands like the little drummer boy and giving what I can.

"I Once Was Lost But Now I'm Found"

"I Once Was Lost But Now I'm Found"

I got such a great deal!  A periwinkle blue $120.00 jacket from Coldwater Creek for $12.00! Sunday  I wore it to Publix, in my power wheelchair on a beautiful blustery day.  Once back home again I began to take the bags of groceries off of the back of my wheelchair and discovered my beloved jacket was missing! I said out loud "Lord I am too tired to ride back to Publix two miles down the road."  I started to get upset but decided to let it go.  It was only $12.00.
Later that evening my neighbor gave me a call.  "Did you ride down to Publix today?"... "Yes..."
Her husband and sister in law went for a long walk w/ the dog.  About a mile away they found a periwinkle blue Coldwater Creek Jacket on the ground.  "Hey!  That's an expensive jacket!  Karen likes that color!  Let's take it back to her!"
Once it was in my neighbors hands she remembered that I had Facebooked in my blog about my new Periwinkle jacket and sent it back to me.
"I once was lost but now I'm found."
Now THAT'S a God wink!

Wednesday's Grace Notes
The movie The Color Purple, starting the day with Beth Moore, a mantle with lots of twisted fresh gourds, making new friends and cherishing the old, new cinnamon candles,a hot bratwurst eaten outside in the cold with a cold soda... reminded me of living in Germany, and Joyce Meyers new book Living Beyond Your Feelings.

Monday's Grace Notes

Monday's Grace Notes
A freshly vacuumed carpet, decorating on the cheap, no matter how "bad" life may get the birds still continue to sing, needing help then figuring how to do it myself, becoming an addicted reader of novels and not just self improvement books... although those are cool too, creating my new "Giving Room", connecting with people, and rolling around my neighborhood in my powered wheelchair,

Sunday's Grace Notes

Sunday's Grace Notes
Going to church!, strangers becoming friends, friends becoming family, I found the lid to my rice steamer!  This is big!, a neighborhood open house, the wind rustling through the lemongrass, I stopped pleading, I stopped begging, and God is now giving me, manna from Heaven.

Thursdays Grace Notes

Thursday's Grace Notes
After 2 and 1/2 months in the hospital I am finally HOME!, my garden... a profusion of butterflies, hummingbirds, skinks, birds, blooms and flowers, the loving kindness of Steve and Jennifer taking care of me, my own peaceful bed and garden view, sitting here in my music studio with my computer, home health coming to my house, having my old Panda Puppy back and staying strong in Jesus.

Sunday's Grace Notes

Diet soft drinks, reading the Sunday sale circulars, making new friends, getting "back in the loop", enjoying the blessing of Sunday no matter where I am and looking forward to cooking for others when I leave the rehab center.
