Sunday's Grace Notes

Sunday's Grace Notes

Going to church w/ family and friends in my powered wheel chair, going to Chili's for lunch, honoring Memorial day and being a military wife for 22 years, My Sheltie hitting Staple's "now that was easy" button, chasing his tail then asking for a treat, getting my satmps in the mail and getting a good nights sleep

Saturday's Grace Notes

Saturday's Grace Notes
It's Saturday!,  thunderstorms, lights going out... and then back on, making my house "purdy", ordering new canvases on line, forgiving myself... forgiving others, antibiotics, Dr.'s and nurses calling me frequently at home to check on me and giving me their private phone #'s (how's that for caring), a profusion of Cardinals, and getting hugs.

Thursday's Grace Notes

Thursday's Grace Notes
Being 49 and having the rest of my life ahead of me, a profusion of passion flowers and morning glories, having Steve and Jennifer over for rosemary and garlic roasted pork, daily renewing my mind... now what was I thinking again?, my adult children and their chosen careers mirroring what is important in their lives and praising God for this day no matter what it throws my way.

Wednesday's Grace Notes

Playing the piano first thing in the morning even before washing the sleepies out of my eyes, having the freedom to choose, getting together with old friends, a good nights rest, being outside more, the warmth of the sun hitting the left side of my face, the smell of vanilla body wash, my sheltie and all of his 'lovey toys' and my out of control pumpkin vine with it's gigantic yellow orange blossoms.

Tuesday's Grace Notes

An early morning routine, my favorite pens, REALLY cleaning up my art studio, doing the recycling from my wheelchair, connecting w/ Facebook friends face to face in the real world, relying on the Internet to mail my paintings and buying specialty items making me more self-sufficient, watering my begonias while hearing mallard ducks fly overhead and a very noisy squirrel, meeting clients in my home studio... I think that I'll make some brownies.. and starting on antibiotics for cellulitis.  Hey at least it isn't for yet another round of shingles!

Friday's Grace Notes:

Each day is a canvas to paint on, palmettos, playing the guitar at 11:00 at night, fresh blueberries and waffles, being a 'recording artist'... (I like the sound of that, cool), my son Steve still calling me a lot even on his honeymoon, and a day wide open before me!

Angels Unaware

Lessons from a Rehab Center
A couple of years ago I sang in Jacksonville up to five x's a week. I especially got a high from singing in nursing homes. Suddenly I found myself recovering in a rehab center from losing the use of my legs and surgery. I met Jake and, well I fell in love.  Jake was 80 years old and only had a short time to live. I was blessed to share his 80th birthday but like the little drummer boy, what did I have to give?  "What's your favorite song Jake?  Leaving On A Jet Plane it is." So I held his large once strong hand and sang him a "love song" in a room full of therapists, patients, nurses and doctors, strapped in my wheelchair.  He cried.  I cried.  Then, well, everybody cried.  You see God can always use us even in the most unlikely places
