Enjoying food again,  waking up feeling strong and better so that so many people can stop worrying about me.. including myself, once I become stronger I can be stronger for others as well,,  the fact that all of my students and clients end up eventually being my friends,  opening my fridge and not hearing the song "Blinded by the light",happy crows and old dogs chasing squirrels,  fun is always there to be had, we just have to remember to plug into it  and  Praising God that it is February and you and I are hear to enjoy it.

If it takes a village to "raise" a Nancy well in the last few days it took an Army and God meddled in the whole thing the whole time.  I thought that I'd share.  I mean really share.  Then I remembered that "oh ya, you really do have a life.  So.....

Finally being on the right meds and big guns antibiotics so I am no longer sitting in my wheelchair simply crying, in April AT&T contacted ME to tell me that my identity had been stolen and my business sabotaged.  It is February 2012 and I now have it back... I have it back....  my dog Panda getting into the garbage and I realized that if I had his boring life I would get in the garbage too, simple "acts of kindness" from others really CAN save my life,  I slept 'til 10:00 people!  And then I just got out of my bed, into my chair, poured coffee w/out spilling it (RA) and watched Joel Osteen.  My neighbor even got my newspaper, I am awake... no naps today.  Okay.  Now I am crying, tears of joy.  Sooooo

Perfume samples in magazines,  tapping into my quiet side,  my high school earrings still fitting,  realizing that I think better in the morning, create best in the afternoon, and lose myself in my music at night,  "wash, lather, repeat",  a dog and his chewy...  does life get any better than this?,  my love of candles...  and the friends and family who support my habit  and knowing that sometimes what seems to be the end is only the beginning.

Tuesday's Grace Notes

Singing on the mountaintops and in the valleys below, I may live in a house with moldy floors, duck taped carpets and broken windows but when I watch Extreme Home Makeover" I realize that I live in a palace,  iced coffee w/ chocolate protein powder,  seeing grocery shopping as a world of creative possibilities,  sharing my passion for art with my son Steve,  and my old dog going through his second childhood and being stuck in the terrible twos.  Too funny.

Sharing a smile with others and connecting,  learning that creditors really can be nice,  a perfect cup of coffee enjoyed slowly outside with a dog at your feet and a praying Mantis that you've named "Grace",  a big bowl of popcorn and  diet Coke,  doing things myself,  sending thank you notes and having a reason to do them,  "success is 5% talent and 95% hard work",  and teaching an old dog new tricks especially if I am the old dog.

Happy New Year!

Sleeping 9 hrs!  Woo-hoo!,  a quick hot breakfast,  getting my act together (now is this act 1 or act 2?  And do I enter stage left or...),  my Bunn coffee maker is broken BUT it still works- just very v e r y slowly,  my new one woman show "Florida Horizons" at Perdue in downtown Jacksonville,  putting away the holidays and bringing back the calm,  watching Panda push his "now THAT was easy" Staples button and picking up after myself.

"Anticipate joy"... can't wait!,  my adult art students becoming my friends,  people watching,  lotions and potions,  my daughter in love fixing me quiche,  a fuzzy yellow tennis ball + an old dog = a really good time,  the riser in my power chair so that I can cook and paint large canvases, doctors who call me at 7:00 at night,  magazines at Christmas time, and 'clearing my head'.

Momentum,  self employment means no "Christmas bonus"... no wait...  MY LIFE is my "Christmas bonus"!  Amen?,  GETTING to choose what I wear, what I need,  my early morning commute... leave bedroom and go to my home studio,  no road rage.... unless my dog Panda cuts in front of my power  wheelchair,  leftover turkey and dressing sandwiches... and leftovers from my sister,  new designs and new pet series, a yard to enjoy and chocolate peppermint candy canes.

Panda and I playing fetch with his stuffed monkey,  a song in my heart,  coming home to my sense of self,  placing holds on 20 Christmas CD's at the library,  buying long stemmed sunflowers for myself... because life is sweet, be bopping down to TCBY for some fat free peanut butter frozen yogurt,  time with my daughter Shannon, and my favorite painting of all time "Silver Lining" returning back to me.  I may have to keep this one.

Coffee with friends, homemade pumpkin muffins, brainstorming, the colors mustard and teal, dogs playing w/ dogs, cooking for others, going from "what if?" to "why not?", and clean crisp sheets.

Talking to my daughter on the phone, hurting my foot but not breaking it, "living large" and I don't mean my dress size, artists supporting other artists... there is always enough to go around, finishing my "Rainbow Palms" painting, cuddly buggly doggies, my art studio, AKA "toy room, The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and buying shoes on line.

Ordering pizza with my daughter in love Jennifer, taking the time (or thyme) every morning to pinch off my fresh herbs just to smell them, watching old dogs play with their toys,  new inexpensive clothes to wear and learning to ask for help.
