Answered prayers and a good nights sleep,  my new scanner... woo hoo!,  separately spending time w/ my two adult children on the same day,  being self sufficient,  having my house cleaned today,  doing what I'm supposed to be doing,  rubbing fresh herbs between my fingers and drinking in their lingering fragrance,  orange cranberry relish and mandarin orange yogurt,  colored pencils to adorn my pen and ink pet portraits and a forecast of thunderstorms... a good time to light a candle and brew some hazelnut creme coffee while I work... and my watercolor rooster paintings.

I am alive!

I am alive!

I am alive to celebrate another Christmas.  Another celebration of our savior's birth, another December to love and to be loved.  Another chance to live a New Year. My doctors, family, even myself, didn't fully expect me to be alive today, but Jesus did. December is not enough month to rejoice.  This year, for me, Christmas begins on November 15th. I have already cheated...  I have broken out my first Christmas mug.

Drizzling rain and "barking frogs", encouraging a cute little toad to hop back outside, being strong enough to put the garbage out on the street, load my dishwasher and start a load of laundry, working on my current "Florida Horizons" landscape painting, organizing my laundry room, and knowing that I am never really alone.

Steve going to Publix for me and fixing me gourmet pizza for lunch, going to the bank, being accepted into VSA as a teacher for the disABLED... an honor, listening to Brazilian jazz, looking forward to some time with my daughter Shannon this weekend and wearing my new shoes.

Painting large canvases with adult art students,picking out jewelry for the day, talking to lifetime Friends on the phone on a Saturday afternoon, looking forward to going to church tomorrow and Bible study, ordering shoes through the mail and they actually fit!

Ordering pizza with my daughter in love Jennifer, taking the time (or thyme) every morning to pinch off my fresh herbs just to smell them, watching old dogs play with their toys,  new inexpensive clothes to wear and learning to ask for help.
